Shires Animation StudiosEdit

(December 22, 2006-)

Nickname: "Steamboat Winnie"

Logo: A gold paper flips in the logo onto screen, drawing a red outline of Matthew Mouse wearing a steamboat hat. The paper finishes flipping as an outline of Matthew turns into a scene from the 1928 Shires cartoon Steamboat Winnie, and below the picture, the words "Shires" write themselves in the signature corporate font (with a slight modification), with "ANIMATION STUDIOS" fading in underneath.

Bylines:

  • 2011-2012: "A TimeWarner Company" (with "TimeWarner" in its own logo font)
  • 2013-2014 present: Bylineless.
  • 2015-present: "A Lionsgate Company".

Variants:

  • On new animated shorts, as well as at the beginning and end of movies, the logo is cut down to its last few seconds.

FX/SFX: Mostly CGI.

Cheesy Factor: The "Shires" logo writing in the Shires logo font is kind of choppy, although this may be intentional given that it's an animated signature quickly scribbling itself on the paper.

Music/Sounds: The opening and ending theme plays over the logo, or it's silent.

Music/Sounds Variants:

  • On Meet the Robertson, Bullet and The Town Mouse and the Country Mouse 3, Herself the Elf and The Velveteen Rabbit, The sound of pages turning followed by a cheerful tune that Matthew's whistling with music in the cartoon.

Availability: Current. It was first seen at the end on Meet the Robertson, and can be seen on every Shires animated feature henceforth, most recently Chris and Dhris Rescue Rangers, as well as short films like Freeze Frame: Frame by Frame, Big Villain 6: B-Movie, Zoomania: Pretty Zoo and Marina: Gone Fishing and has appeared at the beginning and end of all Shires features starting with Bullet.

Scare Factor: None.
