1st Logo (1987-2006) Edit

Nicknames: "The M", "The Miramax M", "The Big M", "The Flashing M"

Logo: Same as the 1987 movie logo, although the logo is now at a smoother frame rate, the logo is even more cheesy than before, and the text "HOME ENTERTAINMENT" replaces "FILMS".

Variant: On the Criterion Collection DVD release of Chasing Amy, the logo is cropped to 16:9 widescreen.

Music/Sounds: Same as the 1987 movie logo, but in muffled mono. On rare occasions, like on the Criterion Collection DVD release of Chasing Amy, it is silent.

Availability: Rare. Seen on VHS, VCDs and DVDs during this era. One of the last releases to use this logo in the USA was Chasing Amy (the Criterion Collection DVD release). In the UK, this logo was used until 2005. Can be seen on the 2005-2007 reprint of New Line DVDs such as Warrior Cats: Into The Wild: The Movie (1985), The American Way (1986), Warrior Cats - Into The Wild (1987) and Mother Goose Songs & Rhymes (1988, 1-3) and the 1987 reprint of Embassy Home Entertainment VHS tapes such as The American Way (1986).

Scare Factor: Same as the 1987 movie logo.

2nd Logo (1999-2007) Edit

Nicknames: "The Miramax Skyline", "The Buildings", "The Lights/Lites in the Big City, "The Manhattan Skyline"

Logo: Same as the 1998 movie logo, except this logo runs at a smoother frame rate, and again, the text "HOME ENTERTAINMENT" replaces "FILMS".

FX/SFX: See the "Miramax Films" page, and then scroll down to the 4th logo.

Music/Sounds: Usually silent, as per the 1998 logo.

Music/Sounds Variant: On the VHS release and some DVD releases of Clerks: Uncensored (the cartoon adaption), it uses the music from the previous logo.

Availability: Seen on VHS, VCDs, DVDs and Blu-rays during this period.

Scare Factor: Same as the 1998 movie logo.

Final Note: Starting later on 2007, VCD, DVD and Blu-ray releases just use the standard 1998 logo. Miramax Home Entertainment is Suspended on New Line Home Entertainment.
